The Final Countdown

There are 8 days left of my college career and I do not know anything about my future after then.  The job search and apartment search have slowed down dramatically because I have found nothing!  I know I should be looking harder, but it is very discouraging!!  What will I ever do???

It has been so long since I have posted…I’m sorry everyone!  Class and work have really taken time away from my career search, as well as my blog entries.  I have quite a bit to update everyone on!

Resume Review

Let me start off by saying this:  Career Services Rocks!!!  I’m so happy that I went there before I sent my resume anywhere!  I have felt fairly comfortable with my resume since I made mine in its current format sometime last year.  I’ve always felt my resume accentuated my strong points and was clean and clear.  That, however, was not exactly the case.  A few helpful tips I learned:

Hey everyone, I hope you had a great spring break! 

This past summer, I was lucky enough to be hired on as an intern in the Marketing and Communications Department for the Greater Wichita Convention and Visitors Bureau.  It was an amazing experience in which I learned so much!  The reason I bring that up is to stress the importance of finding an internship in your respective field. 

Good news!

It’s always depressing to hear news reports of companies cutting jobs and to hear reports of decreasing job markets, but I found out some very exciting news today for anyone planning to graduate in May!
